Now I don’t remember where it was I first heard about these crazy blokes, but it sure as hell wasn’t at the hair dresser. Apes & Androids is a New York based quintet that creates the musical equivalent of digital LSD. Their work stands facing a future printed on silicon while buried to their neck in the progressive rock of the 70’s.
Everything’s in there. The bombast of Bowie, the stadium rock of Queen, and perhaps even some of the tribal worship of Philip Glass’ mind-bending “qatsi” series.
